Professor Marc Turner, co-Director of NA-ATTC, has been appointed as new Director of the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS).

Marc Turner is Professor of Cellular Therapy at the University of Edinburgh and his research interests include the translation of advanced therapy medicinal products to clinical practice. He is currently Chair of the Global Alliance on iPSC Therapies, a Commissioner on the Commission on Human Medicines and is a member of its COVID-19 Vaccines Benefit-Risk Expert Working Group and its Clinical Trials, Biologicals and Vaccines Expert Advisory Group. Marc is also a Member of the Scottish Medicines Consortium and a Member of the UK Advisory Committee on the Safety of Blood, Tissues and Organs. He was formerly a Non-Executive Director of Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult and formerly a Member of the European Medicines Agency Committee on Advanced Therapies (CAT).
