Cryopreservation of mesenchymal stromal/stem cells

Human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stromal/stem cells have emerged as one of the promising cell therapy products for therapeutic applications. Liquid nitrogen controlled-rate freezers are well established and have been widely used to cryopreserve cellular products. NA-ATTC partners Cytiva and NHS Blood and Transplant have shared a report exploring the efficacy of a liquid nitrogen-free electronic controlled rate freezer for the cryopreservation of human mesenchymal stromal/stem cells.
