NAATTC colleagues in Leeds and Newcastle Hospital Trusts are developing an ATMP Community of Practice in order to strengthen links and share best practice between healthcare professionals involved in delivering Advanced Therapies to patients.
Debbie Beirne, NIHR Leeds CRF Manager and Deputy Director, said
“The idea of creating an ATIMP community of practice was to create an entity that will bring clinical or research delivery nurses involved in ATIMP delivery and patient care and management together, with the aim of enhancing existing pathways of care and indeed creating best practice principles and guidance/SOP/s in this evolving arena. We will start this initially with the nurses directly involved in the NAATTC and then broaden out to offer engagement and involvement in working groups to steer specific, defined activities – thus creating a network of practitioners across the 3 ATTC centres, over the next 2-3 years”.
