Representatives from across the UK Advanced Therapy Medicinal Product (ATMP) ecosystem were brought together by the Advanced Therapy Treatment Centre (ATTC) network at this virtual seminar to review patient and public perspectives on cell and gene therapies to inform future research, education and awareness raising activities.
Hosted jointly by the ATTC network, Midlands and Wales-ATTC and University of Birmingham Centre for Patient Reported Outcomes Research, participants were presented with findings from the CPROR team’s recent publication “Patient and public perspectives on cell and gene therapies: a systematic review” and the Centre’s ongoing work to develop a an evidence-based toolkit to facilitate the design of patient-focused educational resources.
Talks were followed by a lively discussion with participants from the ATMP industry and NHS representatives on the value and use of patient reported outcomes (PROs) in clinical trials and routine practice to ultimately accelerate clinical adoption of ATMPs in the NHS.
